ASPIRA North
Youth Leadership Charter School

The ASPIRA North Youth Leadership Charter School is an "independent public school" located in North Miami, Florida. We serve more than 250 students in grades six to nine whose parents have chosen to leave the traditional public school environment for our smaller teacher-student ratio and caring faculty and staff. This environment provides clear guidelines for a safe, orderly, and disciplined school and helps to ensure academic achievement.

The student population is ethnically diverse, reflecting the area’s multi-cultural population. The demographic composition is approximately 54 percent male and 46 percent female. The racial/ethnic breakdown is: Blacks 44%, Hispanics 47%, Whites 7%, and Others 2%.

Our school provides students with a safe learning environment, which is culturally sensitive and encourages students to develop their academic and personal potential through the ASPIRA Process of Youth Leadership Development. We encourage and expect that teachers, parents, youth and community will work together to that end. As a result of the cultural diversity of the North Miami community, the ASPIRA Youth Leadership Charter School is sensitive to the historical contributions of all ethnic and racial groups.

Of prime importance to our faculty and staff is the development of students’ academic and personal potential. The school implements educational and related programs, setting forth the school’s curriculum, instructional methods, and many distinctive instructional techniques to be used. It creates an environment that encourages students to improve, as well as increase, their own potential by focusing on the educational strengths and needs of the students. In addition, through Leadership classes, students participate in the ASPIRA "AAA Process" of Awareness, Analysis and Action. The ASPIRA Club Federation (ACF), a student government, and the School Advisory Council, a parent-teacher-student organization, help students develop and strengthen leadership skills.

ASPIRA Youth Leadership Charter School is non-sectarian and non-discriminatory in its programs, admission policies, employment practices and operation. There is no tuition for admission to the school and no minimum academic criteria.

For admission information, please call (305)893-8050, or visit us at 13300 Memorial Highway, North Miami, FL  33161.
