Event Update
ASPIRA
of Florida, Inc. is pleased to announce that the Fundraising
Gala "Celebrating 21 Years of Building Leaders"
that was held on April 13, 2001 at the Sofitel Hotel in Miami was a huge
success. Two hundred fifty (250) people including community leaders,
volunteers, guests, and staff from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach
Counties attended this exciting event to honor Lee Ramos, former Chair
of the Board and renowned architect.
The
Master of Ceremonies was Univision weatherman, John Morales.
Entertainment consisted of Latin Grammy Award winner Nestor Torres and
the 5th Avenue Band. Artists Romero Britto, Christian
Bernard, and Obed Gomez contributed paintings to a silent auction.
We wish
to thank our many sponsors from the South Florida community who helped

ASPIRA of
Florida, Inc. is part of the ASPIRA Association, Inc., the only
national nonprofit organization devoted solely to the education and
leadership development of Puerto Rican and other Latino youth.
ASPIRA takes its name from the Spanish verb aspirar, "aspire."
Since 1961 ASPIRA has pursued its mission of empowering the Latino
community through the development of its youth. |
